Outrageous 1980’s TV Mash-Ups That Broke The 4th Wall

Watching TV in the 80s, you never knew when the star of one hit show would just wander onto another causing these mind boggling mash-ups:

#1 Magnum & Murder She Wrote

In “The Novel Connection” pensioner super-sleuth-crime writer Jessica Fletcher, hits Hawaii, saving Magnum P.I from being framed for murder! As usual only Jessica can help – and she does on the condition that they stick to their original jobs, she wouldn’t go into the P.I. business Magnum won’t become a crime writer. Deal done, Jessica saves the day. Fletcher and Magnum on one screen, amazing.

#2 Mork, Fonzie From Happy Days & Laverne From Laverne & Shirley

In this crazy mash-up, Mork meets the Fonze. Mork has been sent to Earth to study human emotions as on his home planet they do not use them. In a flashback, he is seen visiting Fonzie to learn about dating! And if that wasn’t out there enough Fonzie sets him up with Laverne from Laverne And Shirley. Awesome and bizarre.

#3 Boy George On the A-Team

In this crazy episode, B.A admits he is a Boy George fan, leading into a plot involving a concert, a robbery, Murdock in drag and, of course, a gunfight. At the end, someone asks: “Who are you guys? “The A-Team,” says Hannibal. “So there” adds Boy George. It ends with B.A. dancing to Karma Chameleon. The A-Team are awesome but Boy George’s acting is so bad it defies description:

#2 Captain Kirk on Mork & Mindy

Mork teleports but the beams have crossed. Who should appear but William Shatner! As Captain Kirk! He demands: “This isn’t the Jacuzzi. You aren’t Roxanne. Gimme my champagne! Gimme those glasses!” Once he’s gone, Mork shouts after him that he needs to know if they kill Spock or not (Star Trek II had ended with Spock dying to save his friends and the nation needed to know) Robin Williams and William Shatner together makes for TV bliss.

#5 Charlies Angels on The Love Boat

The three tough get glamorous Private Investigators popped up aboard the TV institution The Love Boat. They were on board the infamous cruise ship looking for a thief, but this episode was really confusing anyone to anyone who came in halfway through, it was totally unclear who was starring on whose show?
