If you’re not aware, L-Theanine is an amino acid. You’ll typically find it in remedies like Green Tea. The main benefit of L-Theanine is that it can help make you more relaxed.
More than that, not only does L-Theanine promote relaxation and calmness, it actually reduces anxiety.
When you’re less anxious, calmer and more collected, it’s much easier for you to get into a sleepy state of mind. This makes it much easier for when you get into bed for a long night’s rest.
This is all made possible by the amino acid’s ability to boost the GABA in your body. GABA is a hormone in your system that helps to reduce anxiety.

However, we can tell you what it can do. Passionflower contains a component known as Apigenin. This is what really counts in this herb, it’s been seen to help reduce anxiety and promote calmness.
Again, much like the L-Theanine in here, it doesn’t directly promote sleep – but it sets up the correct conditions to encourage it when the time is right.
The final ingredient in Enzymatic Therapy Sleep Tonight, which again has it’s dosages tied up in a proprietary blend with the passionflower.
As the dosages are hidden, we can’t say it will be that reliable – however, the studies behind it suggest it could help sleep.
Lemonbalm has been seen in research studies to reduce anxiety and promote relaxation. Again, like the majority of these ingredients of Enzymatic Therapy Sleep Tonight, they put your mind right for some effective slumber.
Interesting, Lemonbalm was originally regarded as a cognitive enhancing nootropic. Unfortunately, further study showed it wasn’t that effective – but the mood altering abilities for a more calm demeanor were clear.
It’s a good fit in this supplement, it’s just a shame about that proprietary blend.

There’s only a handful of ingredients here, but the choices are strong. In terms of strengths, this is a good sleep aid in terms of setting you up in the right mood to fall asleep.
As for weaknesses, we first have to talk about the proprietary blend of the passionflower and lemonbalm. You don’t know how much you’re getting of either, so it’s difficult to know how effective it really is overall.
Secondly, the melatonin may be artificial and that could reduce the overall effect. There’s also no other melatonin providers in this supplement, and nothing to really help reduce overnight disturbances.
For a reliable natural melatonin supply, we suggest Tart Cherries, they’re full of it. More and more modern sleep supplements are beginning to adopt it.
L-Tryptophan would help as well. After you absorb it, your body converts it into homemade natural melatonin which also promotes effective sleep.
To reduce wake ups in the middle of the night, we suggest magnesium. It relaxes your nervous system and reduces muscle impulses across your body overnight – this is good for keeping you still and not waking yourself up involuntarily.
All of this would be a big help.
Are there any side effects in Enzymatic Therapy Sleep Tonight? Is it safe to use?
It appears to be. None of the ingredients in here are linked to causing side effects at these doses and they all appear to be in very sensible portions.

Also, we think more natural sources of melatonin would help here, along with something like magnesium to help reduce nighttime disturbances.
