Are the ingredients in Redcon1 Fade Out good?
It’s a mix. There’s a lot in here, so we can’t say it is good on the whole – but we can say there are some changes that could be made.
Some of the ingredients in here have a bad reputation, and are even banned in some countries. They may cause side effects. Whereas others are perfectly safe and effective for a blissful night’s sleep.
Below, we look at all the angles of this supplement so you can know more about what’s actually in Redcon1 Fade Out:
4-amino-3-phenylbutanoic Acid (Phenibut)
Also known as Phenibut – we’re not sure if this is a healthy choice in Redcon1 Fade Out.
This was once a popular choice in the nootropics industry, and was thought to help improve cognition – especially when combined with caffeine. However, the research to prove this is limited.
What is well-documented however, is the ingredient’s ability to reduce anxiety. It’s a very powerful anxiolytic, which makes it very effective for helping you to get to sleep at night.
However, these benefits come at a cost. It is highly addictive. Addictive to the point that it is now banned in the European Union and Australia, and there are currently talks of banning it throughout the USA.
Many people have reported to have used Phenibut as a social crutch due to it’s anxiolytic effects, only for these to develop into both mental and physical addictions.
It also has links to causing side effects with overuse. More on this in the side effects section later.
GABA
This is a naturally occurring hormone in your body, however, absorption from supplementation is sometimes an issue.
GABA is a hormone in your body that helps to reduce anxiety and promote relaxation. Having higher levels of this hormone in your body is good when it comes to sleep. You’re in a better mood and mindset, which makes it easier for you to pass out.
However, as we’ve mentioned, it can sometimes be difficult for your body to absorb. There are reports of it being troublesome to pass the blood-brain barrier in your body. If it cannot do this, you won’t get the benefits.
It may not work as well as you might hope. A better option is a GABA precursor that promotes the hormone in your body after its absorbed.
L-Arginine
This is an amino acid in Redcon1 Fade Out that isn’t great when it comes to oral supplementation.
L-Arginine has been seen in studies to help promote blood and nutrient flow – which is great for supporting the absorption and effectiveness of the other ingredients in this supplement.
However, L-Arginine is difficult in itself for your body to absorb. A better idea would be to use a precursor to L-Arginine. L-Citrulline is a much more effective choice. It converts to L-Arginine after your body absorbs it, which is exactly what you want.
It’s a shame that wasn’t used here instead.
Phenylalanine
Another amino acid that may not deliver the full benefits in Redcon1 Fade Out.
Phenylalanine can help to promote ‘feel good’ hormones in your brain such as serotonin and dopamine. However, studies show that it is broken down too quickly after being absorbed for you to get the full benefit.
You’re unlikely to get much out of it in this supplement.
Valerian Root
This is a much better option in Redcon1 Fade Out, but doesn’t directly promote sleep.
Valerian root is commonly used in nighttime teas. As we’ve mentioned, it doesn’t directly promote sleep – but it can help in other ways.
The main method that Valerian root works is by promoting your overall calmness while reducing your anxiety.
Like other ingredients in this supplement, this can help get you into a better mindset to make it easier to fall asleep.
L-Ornithine HCL
We can see why L-Ornitine is used in Redcon1 Fade Out, but we don’t think the studies are there to support it.
One of the main claims made about this amino acid is that it can help to improve athletic performance, and even support recovery. We believe the main reason for it being in Fade Out is to help with overnight recovery.
However, there isn’t enough evidence out there to support this claim. Not only that, there are some mild side effects linked to supplementing this amino acid which we will look at later.
L-Theanine
This is a much better amino acid in Redcon1 Fade Out. L-Theanine is often found in herbs like Green Tea.
So, what does it do?
It can help promote your natural levels of the anxiety reducing hormone GABA. This can help to promote relaxation and calmness which can improve your overall mindset for when you go to sleep.
It’s a nice addition here for setting the right tone just before bed.
Magnesium
One of the best ingredients in Redcon1 Fade Out. Magnesium is an effective mineral for promoting a good night’s sleep.
Why does it work so well? Because it can help to relax muscular impulses overnight.
One of the main reasons for waking up in the middle of the night is due to involuntary muscular twitches and jerks. By using magnesium to help relax these impulses, you stay more still throughout the night, reducing the chances of waking yourself up.
Melatonin
The final ingredient that we’re discussing in Redcon1 Fade Out – melatonin.
This is a very effective nutrient in this supplement for sleep too. Melatonin is your body’s natural sleep hormone. When your brain releases it into your blood stream, it’s a signal to your body that it’s time to sleep.
It’s great for getting you to sleep. However, it’s unclear whether the melatonin in Redcon1 Fade Out is natural or not. This isn’t too much of an issue, but it can effect the potency and power of it to some degree.
A better option would be to use something like Montmorency Tart Cherries which are packed with natural melatonin. It ensures the user is getting the real deal along with the extra benefits which come along with the cherries.
Redcon1 Fade Out Ingredients Summary
No doubt about it, this is a big ingredient list. Unfortunately, we’re reluctant to say that’s a good thing in this case.
We like the magnesium, melatonin and l-theanine, but other factors in here don’t sit well with us. Phenibut and Ornithine have their share of side effects and danger. Whereas Arginine, Phenylalanine and GABA can be difficult for your body to absorb and use.
The melatonin also has issues of it’s own as we’re not sure whether it comes from natural sources, or is artificially made as that’s an easier way of getting it.
We suggest Montmorency Tart Cherries to get natural melatonin, as well as L-Tryptophan as a natural precursor to melatonin which converts into the hormone after you absorb it. These would be welcome changes.
Is Redcon1 Fade Out safe?
Personally, we don’t think so. However, if you still plan to go ahead, we suggest consulting with your doctor first.
The first red flag to us is the Phenibut. It can develop both physical and mental addictions. Not only that constant use may also lead to diarrhea, stomach upset and general distress.
The fact that it’s banned in numerous countries should give you a hint that it’s not something you should be using without a prescription or medical guidance.
L-Ornithine also has reports of causing stomach upset and diarrhea when over-used. Something to be aware of.
Redcon1 Fade Out Summary
Although it has a lot of ingredients, Redcon1 Fade Out isn’t the best sleep supplement we’ve come across.
It’s one of the more risky choices that we’ve seen on the market, mainly due to the inclusion of Phenibut in this supplement. Phenibut which is banned in numerous countries including the European Union and Australia.
We also think a few changes could be made. Some of the ingredients would be better off replaced by more reliable choices for both absorption and effectiveness. Arginine being replaced with L-Trytophan for example.
There’s plenty of room for improvement in this supplement.
